Second Marking Period

Task #11; Creating Your Own Poster

The first thing I did was create a background for my poster. By using a gradient, I attempted to create the blue skies and green field. After that I added the title, which I used the glass effect on and used a rainbow gradient stroke to make it pop out. Then I decided to add the image of a soccer girl in motion, by using the magic wand I deleted the white space of the image so all that was left was the figure, which i gave an inverse gradient stroke. After that I used stamps to create the 'grass' and by clicking its blending options I filled it in with green and gave it an inner and outer shadow and glow. Then I added the slogan of the Girls Soccer Club by using the plastic text, also giving it a rainbow stroke. The final text I used was the 'London City' text, I inserted the image of the park into the text and applied it to the poster. Using the magic wand once again to delete the white spaces. The using a normal orange text I added the other information around the text, giving it a black thin stroke to make it pop. That is how I created my poster.

Task #12; Texture with Layer

The first thing I did was choose an image of the article of clothing that I wanted to apply the texture to (In this case I chose a long sleeve soccer jersey). After that, I also searched for the texture I wanted to apply (which was a galaxy texture). Finally, after getting the necessary images I opened the clothing image on Photoshop. By selecting the jersey itself with the magic wand, I isolated it from the background by copying the 'merged image' and pasted it on its own page. Afterwards, I opened up the texture image and placed that layer on top of the jersey image, making sure all of the texture covered the jersey completely. I then clipped the image with the layer below it, and after choosing 'difference' the new image of the sweater was created. I then expanded the canvas size (doubling it) and inserted the original images to the left of my creation. That's all to it :3

Task #13; Change One Thing Poster

Today we created the Change One Thing Poster. The first thing I did was open a new file in Photoshop, making the height twice as big as the width.  I then applied a gradient background from a dark purple to a soft pink. After that I inserted an image of a box of chocolates, and kept other images of berries. the two chocolates behind the box cover I used the magnetic lasso to cut them out and Placed the berries into the space by clipping it to the copy of the merged image. The rest of the spaces I simply selected the berry from the images by using the magnetic lasso and copying it. After that I placed the copy onto the original image and set it to cover the chocolates. After competing the image I cut off the background excess (the table) and then added the outer glow. I then added the logo and the captions; and the disclaimer. Giving the logo the outer glow as well and giving the words a black stroke.

The NYC FOOD BANK Logo was used solely for educational purpose. No Copy Right infringement was intended.

                     Task #14A; Flag Displacement Practice

The first thing I did was get pictures of flags and a brick wall. I opened a new file in photoshop, and the pictures separately on their own page. Because I would use two flags I placed both flags on one page by increasing the canvas size. After that, I moved the brick wall image over to the original new page, setting it where I wanted. I then brought in the images of the flags, placing it over the brick wall image. I applied a Hard Light to the flag image, and then created a copy of the brick layer. After placing the copy over the flag layer, I applied a Gaussian Blur at 1px and saved it as a PSD. I applied a distortion-displace on the PSD file of the brick wall, and afterwards gave it a Hard light. Finally I lowered the opacity to 80% to achieve the final look.

Task #14B; Flag Displacement on Face

Today we applied the exact same skills we did with the flag displacement on the brick wall, except now this is a face. By doing the exact same thing I did above to the prior assignment I managed to create the finished look of the Honduran flag on my face. I only fixed it by erasing the edges and smoothing out the edges with a smudge tool. All of the steps are from this website

Task #15; Smart Filtering with Motion Blur

The first thing I did was open the image as a Smart Object on photoshop and applied a motion blur to the image. Afterwards, I clicked on the white box thumbnail and then selected a soft edge brush tool. Before I did anything else, I pressed D to restore the default colors of the foreground color (Black). The with that I painted over the ship itself to return it back to its normal image without the blur. Now it creates the illusion that the boat is leaving the port behind :3
The reason why we use smart filter is because a smart filter allows us to adjust the image without affecting the pixel data. In smart filters we can add more than one filter on top of each other, and change their orders.        Meanwhile, in a normal filter you can only change the thing to one filter or nothing at all.

Task #16; Quick Masking to Add Desired Effect

I opened the image of Neymar on photoshop, my goal for this was to whiten his teeth and create a blue hue to his eyes (can't really see it anyways but.. he's too cute). First thing I did was zoom in on the area I would change, then I set default colors; making the foreground color white and background color white. I then selected quick mask mode, by selecting a brush and adjusting its diameter I then started painting over the mouth and eye pupils. The red areas indicated the places where change would occur; I kept switching the foreground color to erased the areas I had accidentally shaded over. When I had it all set, I clicked on 'Print Screen' button on the keyboard to take a picture of my screen with the shading. Finally, I used the dodge tool to whiten the teeth of this gorgeous soccer player. I then used a brush tool to paint blue over the eyes and adjusted the opacity; created a new layer just for the eyes by the way. After I was done I inserted both the original image and the picture of the areas I shaded onto the new image.

Task #17; Soft Filtering Skin Tones

The first thing I did was open the original image on photoshop, then created a copy of the image. After that, I added a Gaussian Blur to the copy, and switched it to Screen to get the 'glow' I needed. Once i achieved the glow I wanted I applied a layer mask to the copy. Afterwards I chose the airbrush tool, choosing a soft edged brush and lowered the opacity to 40%. With that, I erased the glow from anything that was not skin. Such as the background, the paint, the eyes, the headband. Thus creating the final image.

Task #18; Adobe Illustrator-USB Drive

Illustrator is a vector drawing program. Unlike bitmap images that stores information in a grid of dots, Illustrator uses mathematical equations to draw out the shapes. Multimedia illustrators are primarily responsible for operating multimedia-imaging equipment in order to produce visual displays and documents. They produce graphic artwork that is used in Army publications, signs, charts, posters, television and motion picture productions.
The first thing I did was create a 170px by 300px rectangle, and aligned it to the center of the new page on Adobe Illustrator. I then created the cylinder base of the drive. After that I used a gradient fill in to the new shape. By creating different shapes and layering them in a certain order behind each other I was able to create this realistic flash drive. The gradient fill in and strokes added a realistic depth to it, so that the image did not look flat but actually popped out of the paper. I also used the pen tool to create the divide on the top part of the flash drive. Task #19; Drawing Out Last Name on Illustrator

The first thing I did was open up a Basic RGB art board canvas on illustrator. Then by using the line and arc tools I created my last name. I then save it as a PDF and edited in photoshop to add the gradient background and stroke; along with the small yellow stars. Afterwards I provided examples of shapes that the other tools provided. Such as arcs, lines, polygons, ellipses, starts, graphs, and much more.

                  Task #19B; Practice

The first thing I did for this practice was open up a new canvas board. The goal here was to use the Minus Front and Divide option correctly. So i created a blue square, which I then covered with a pink rectangle (half way). After I selected both shapes I clicked Pathfinder option and selected MINUS FRONT. As a result the half that was covered, along with the rectangle, disappeared. Then I created a rounded rectangle, which in the center would be covered by a green circle. After doing the previous step in the other image of using the Minus Front, I then had the two sides of a rounded rectangle. I then created a longer thinner rectangle that stretched over the middle of the new shape. I selected both shapes and clicks Pathfinder and selected the 'Divide' option. I then switched from the black arrow to the white arrow, and cleared the sections of the orange rectangle until i was left with four corners. .

                             Task #20; Phone Test

On the first day of the test, I started by creating the body of the phone. First I created the rectangles needed, I rounded off the corners by using effect>stylize>round corners, and then expanded the image. I also used Offset Path to create the other rectangles withing the body to prepare for the other days. I filled the rectangles with a linear gradient with the indicated gradients, changing the color based on the RGB given in the instructions. To finish off the first day I started on the background of the screen for the phone. On the second day, I created the screen and started on creating the key buttons of the phone. Having the background box for the screen already created, I focused on the smaller rectangle/screen of the phone, and the two buttons that were in it. Following the indicated gradients and RGB I added the color. To give it the reflective/shine on 2/3s of the screen I used the Minus Front on the copy of the background square; after color it white i lowered the opacity to 20%. After that I added the words in the screen and the icons. There third and fourth days I focused on creating the buttons of the phone. By using Pathfinder, divide, and offset paths the four buttons were created. The middle circular buttons were created by several ellipses and offset paths. After that, I created the triangles and other symbols needed on the pad. Also, I created the number keys for the phone using effect>distort&transform>transform. Finally I worked on the ear piece and microphone for the phone.
